Fresh install of the latest Windows with all dependencies installed (VC++ Redistributables, DirectX, etc.).
After logging into my account, SignalRGB enters a crash loop: startup → login → restart → crash → auto-restart.
Creating a new account used to work but no longer does.
To recover, I must delete all VortexEngine/WhirlwindFX data from %AppData% and %LocalAppData%, stop the service, uninstall, and reinstall.
The app works only while logged out. I suspect synced settings or effects are causing the crash.
Your theory about corrupted synced settings or effects is almost certainly right. It’s probably hitting a bad effect or profile file that’s causing it to fall over on the login stage.
Do you see any error messages or pop-ups at all, or no? After the reinstall, does it work properly until a specific time, or it goes on a crash loop again? Can you attempt another reinstall, but following this step-by-step guide?
No popup messages, it just into a loop (open → crash → autorestart → crash) once I sign in.
If I dont sign in, it works fine. I went numerous times through the removal and install cycle.
Attached is one of the logs I managed to save before full clean install. My sync settings conclusion kinda comes from the log.
crash.log (10.9 KB)
I’ve responded to your other post, but please try these:
- Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable x64 from Microsoft’s website.
- Complete a full power cycle.
All the baseline and troubleshooting was done.
Its not dependencies related since It works fine without logging in.
Please send us a bug report through the bug icon found on the upper right corner of the app. We’ll be able to look into this further with logs.
The app doesnot function anymore after logging in. Thus I cannot do anything inapp. Thats why I sent the crashlog above
Can you reinstall one more time? First, make sure you completely have the app and all its related services closed (use Task Manager if needed). You can then uninstall the app.
After uninstalling, go to %AppData%\WhirlwindFX and delete any remaining files & folders. Same thing for %LocalAppData%\VortxEngine, then you can reinstall.
After reinstalling, don’t log in quite yet. Try loading a few effects. After successfully changing effects, try logging in afterwards. Does that seem to change anything?
