Hey, sorry for hijacking your thread … but I am facing a very similar problem and I wondered if you’ve found a solution to your configuration problem? Thanks!
I’ll be building my own strip soon for my 24” monitors. You’ll want to get WS2812B LEDs and solder or use connectors to cut and build the RGB strip to your own size. I recommend getting some that are IP50 water resistant, as they have adhesive.
Your next challenge will be getting everything connected to the PC. I used a Prism 8 controller with some various adapters. I recommend joining our Discord for more guidance from the community. Hope this helps!
Hi, thanks for your suggestion. Since I’ve already built several WLED powered stuff (8x8x6 LED Matrix Cube, Flux Capacitor, …, not just plain old stripe) I’ve fiddled around with one yesterday and by using the very handy “Custom LED Strip Component Generator” (the URL isn’t allowed, which is a strange decision) I was able to get it working via SignalRGB. I don’t know if this is the best solution, but it’s working really well so far and I am very excited I didn’t need a subscription for doing that, truly awesome!
I thought you were more in-progress! You’re right about the Custom Strip configurator, that’s what I’ll be using as well. Figured you weren’t quite at that step yet though haha.
As for the URL thing…I’ll take a look and see what might be done
At the time of asking I did not have an idea though, so things progressed quite fast haha
I don’t know what rule might have triggered when posting the URL, fresh forum account, not enough posts, URL host not on whitelist or whatever - but imho signarlgb_dot_com should be generally accepted (hmm, since I am having the error “An error occurred: Sorry you cannot post a link to that host.” right now I guess it’s the latter)
