Low FPS/LED update rate

Hi there,

The LEDs update slowly, like mayne 5-10 FPS sp the animation is harsh and not pleasant.

I am using the motherboards ARGB headers and Artic P12 Pro fans

Motherboard is a Gigabyte b850 auros elite ice wifi7, with a 9800X3D

No gpu for another month or 2

I cant really tell where the bottleneck is. Im not sure if its the motherboard controller, lack of GPU or the fans themselves.

Anyome have spme advice?

Might be the motherboard controller, you’d need to try another RGB controller to isolate it. How many RGBs are connected to the RGB header? If there’s too many that could slow it down, and you can test by only trying a single fan.

Hi signalbadger,

36 to 80 per header. I checked the motherboard spec and it is running within the limit and within the power spec.

I’ll try just 1 fan - thats a good idea. Then I think i’ll order the nollie controller seeing as its quite cheap. It looks like a lot of people have this issue with motherboard controllers. Quote disappointing how bad they are

Yeah, I wish the onboard RGB controllers were more powerful too. A dedicated controller will likely increase your performance, I personally use a Nollie16.
