Problem
LED strips connected to an ARGB motherboard header or other LED controller are displaying colors incorrectly.
To diagnose this issue, try setting your LEDs to white using the Solid Color effect in SignalRGB. If your LEDs turn an orange color, continue with this guide. |
Solution
Motherboard and RGB controller manufacturers often claim very large maximum LED counts, however these numbers are often inaccurate.
The vast majority of ARGB motherboard headers can supply up to 3 Amps of current. Depending on the LED type, this results in a maximum LED count of 120 LEDs per ARGB header or port.
Please review your motherboard’s user manual for the maximum supported amperage when in doubt.
To solve this problem, try reducing the amount of LEDs connected to any single header by spreading the LEDs across multiple ARGB headers.
