so usually I don’t have this problem but now Kaspersky keeps deleting SignalRGB after flagging it as a potential risk. any way to fix this?
Delete Kaspersky. It’s a waste. All you really need is windows defender. Or just keep Kaspersky off And run it every once in a while.
This is the worse advice possible. Kaspersky being one of the best security software’s and scanners one could have.
ThisGuy403 - to answer your question, exclude the signalrgb.exe from system watcher and you’ll be fine. It’s detecting it as it has access to all components of your system for RGB control and if you use the paid for version of Signal RGB it also control cooling features (fans).
Kaspersky is no longer allowed to be used in the USA, so depending on the users location it might actually be good advice. (if you have it on your system you won’t get any new definition files moving forward, and if it is your only protection, it puts your system at risk)
Appreciate the information for adding an exclusion, for users outside the USA who can still use Kaspersky. We’ve seen false positives from them before - if we know the exact version we can email them.
Who misinformed you that Kaspersky is not allowed to be used in the USA? Ever hear of freedom? No one can tell you that you cannot use it, I have used it (in Florida) for over 15 years. What you may be thinking of is the government passed regulations to prohibit it on government owned machines.
I get definition updates hourly, and no government will stop that, they cannot. Kaspersky has MANY servers throughout America. The concept to block them from doing business for customers in the USA would require banning a company, which unless there was any evidence to use to convict them of maliciousness, could not be done. Kaspersky was never proven to have any form of maliciousness, the USA government accused them of this and do you know what Kaspersky did? They opened their code base to the world for examination. What was found? Nothing. Nothing at all. Thus, they were never convicted of any wrong doing.
I had not heard of this step the crap commerce department took, albeit unConstitutional for free trade in America, they also have no founded concerns. This is a result of owners of competition lobbying for this to be done and they won the bid to have Kaspersky “banned”. However - this does not affect any American from using the technology, the best security software mind you, we are free citizens to use it should we choose - and I will continue. Kaspersky will continue to function in the USA because the government does not own nor control the internet and cannot impose control mechanisms upon it - not yet anyways. They have tried for years and are still trying. EVEN IF they somehow succeed at some future time, we would still be easily able to continue using Kaspersky because if you use a VPN, as you always should, they would not know you are getting definitions anyways.
