Hi folks! The specific issue I’m having is that a recent update nuked the effect and settings for that effect.
The Questions:
-Is there a way to find out what the effect was prior to the update?
-Could this be a request for developers for an “effect history” or a saved “favorite effect(s)” for the future?
-OR, does something like this already exist and I’m being dumb and can’t find and/or don’t know how to do this?

If you look in your log files and find one from before the update, search for a line that says “Last Active Effect” and you can find the name of the effect that was used when the log was created.
Generally the effect history is session based. So when you launch the app, play an effect, then play another…that’s when there’s data that says “There was a previous effect played” and allows the back button to work.
