Driver update failing due to Administrator privileges required. Forum failed me!

Running Win11 on Ryzen 7 9800X3D and a 5080 GPU.

Upon launch of program it loads into an “Installation Required” and after trying to install within the app it says it needs admin permissions.

I’ve tried ending all SignalRGB tasks in task manager and then running as admin, power cycling (odd forum recommendation), editing properties with the desktop shortcut of the .exe to run as admin after quitting program…all I’m getting is the error that it needs admin permissions.

We pushed a critical security update which has caused driver installation issues for some users. In the meantime here are two community-reported workarounds:

Fix 1: Delete VortxEngine and WhirlwindFX folders from C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ then reinstall from signalrgb.com. Keeps your login and profiles.

Fix 2: Go to %appdata%/local/WhirlwindFX/SignalRGB/service, delete SignalRGBService.exe then run the installer.

Thank you. After posting this I had uninstalled and reinstalled RGB with success.
