Do people actually subscribe to Pro? The benefits to do so seem so incredibly marginal that it almost seems like they simply don’t want people to subscribe. Macros… who cares. Game integrations… garbage. Pro themes… Fine, some are cool but none are that remarkable. Monitoring… really? No self-respecting PC owner would use this as their PC security.
There is one pretty simple feature that would draw a lot of people to pay for it. ACTUAL CUSTOMIZATION. Allow people to truly create and share themes. Some sort of forum/store type of environment where everyone could post their own and download what the other Pro subscribers have come up with. I would subscribe without a second thought. They obviously have already created some sort of customization enviroment that they use to create their canvases and weak customization settings. Open it up to people and let them do the work for them. I dont get what the hangup is. This is so close to the ultimate RGB app. It is almost as if they don’t want people to pay.
Lol. Good call. I will stick by most of the Pro features being dumb but I have largely stuck my foot in my mouth also. Thanks for the mention. Not sure how I slept on that one.
Sometimes it’s not about what the product can do right now, but rather supporting a product/project that is under development, with regular updates, and making progress toward a vision that you feel is going to be worth it to you. I try to support software projects that I like, when I can, I’ve seen a lot of pretty cool “community supported” projects die on the vine because of lack of support along the way. I understand that not everyone can afford to do that, which is fine, but hopefully enough do that keeps the project moving along toward that goal.
Just my $.02. (The views expressed are those of the speaker, and are not necessarily the views of others on the forum or on the project. YMMV. IANAL. etc. etc.
I wish i hadnt paid the “premium price” for pro. I only really did because it included the cooling side of things. But seeing as how this software is sooooo glitchy. I wont be paying next year thats for sure i have no problems supporting a company for something that work properly, but this is far from it !
Hey, appreciate the feedback. I was curious and went hunting for things that might be bugging you that maybe we hadn’t taken a look at, and noticed you’ve had problems with SL infinity fans. These particular devices have been tricky from day 1, and we’ve actually been working directly with the vendors and manufacturers to straighten out some of the defects. We received the first candidate about four days ago, and are in the process of the initial rounds of testing.
Personally, I’m excited about LianLi controllers finally having a solid framerate under direct control.
@Dougyyyyy we have some really awesome stuff in the pipe for pro users. We do air on giving away a LOT for free, because, well, we believe that simply ‘controlling’ your stuff isn’t something you should pay for. We try and monetize via ads, but many users have network ad blockers and there are lots of complaints there too just because of the nature of advertisement. Pro removes ads. Macros should be called automations because they are way more than dumb macros, and also customizable by writing a bit of JS code.
Regarding effect customization, you can build and share your own effects by joining our developer program. (Drop your email here and I’ll get you enrolled) For information about how to build effects, you can take a look at the documentation here: https://docs.signalrgb.com/lightscripts
If you build something cool, feel free to post it here, or if you’re in the developer program you can submit your effect directly in the app. We have a long way to go to get large numbers of users doing this, but are working toward that goal and its been part of our initiative since day 1. Furthermore, you don’t even have to subscribe to pro to do this.
RE: Monitoring - it isn’t security, just all the internal sensors in your PC. (Temp, memuse, fanspeeds, and anything else we can fetch for you and put on a graph)
Anyway, users not knowing more about this stuff early is really our own fault; I hope this answers at least some of your questions, and if you need any more details I can try to elaborate.
mate, it’s been like 3 months now that i have to “manually” start this program, otherwise it won’t startup with windows 11pro. i’m not the only one with this problem. i would have thought that it would be more important to sort something basic like this starting issue out forst myself ?
i really don;t give a shit about my fan colours. all mine are just set to basic orange anyway, when they work.
it’s more so having my fans startup @ 1000rpm which i have set them to, not 320rpm that Signal rgb wants to set them too
All i would say is why didnt you try it out first by paying for 1 month? That’s what I’ve done and I’m uhm-ing and ahh-ing whether it’s something I will actually use the pro features in the long run.
Did you raise the issue with support or do you have a forum post about this? Can you link me? My response was aimed at the OPs statement, but I’m happy to take a look at what you’re saying separately.
Wow. The arrogance is strong with This One. Imagine being so utterly self-centered you feel no shame in claiming authority to speak for every “self-respecting PC owner” on the planet.
On another note entirely, I personally like this program, specifically for the feature of being able to control all fans, including the GPU, from one convenient app, and not having to put up with glitchy OEM apps like MSI Center, AI Suite III or the King of Bloatware-Armoury Crate. It’s a refreshingly simple app that lets me do 2 things easily and consistently-control ARGB and cooling. And of course this is my own little opinion, I don’t speak for anyone else. And just a side note-my 13 year old grandson has pretty much customized every feature available on the ARGB control feature, for whatever that’s worth
I bought a year of pro with the 4th of july sale and I’m happy with it. Hopefully I can renew for a sale price (or add more time if a sale comes up).
I like the pro themes and once I figured out the monitoring and cooling it’s nice. I don’t really have any issues with signal rgb except it doesn’t work with my 4090 (zotac) so I had to set the colors through their firestorm app, and sometimes the effects freeze (but signal rgb still works so I have to restart it). And I like how you can control devices now. I think it was worth the sale price now that I got to explore it more.
