CPU Temps high when running RGB

Hello,

I recently reset my computer as this is normal for me every 4-5 years, which is about the same amount of time I’ve been using SignalRBG. I love how SignalRGB eliminates multiple programs and does everything in just one. People are constantly amazed how well it works, and I always offer them to go with the Pro version if then want to ditch all the programs they have installed. I recently noticed that two issues though:

  1. while SignalRGB is running, my computer is running 15-30 degrees warmer on average (previously it used to idle around 38 degrees Celsius and now it’s around 55-60 at idle).
  2. This only happens when SignalRBG is running.

Both of these things never used to happen prior to SignalRGB being installed (I was able to confirm it’s SignalRGB because when I quit the program my CPU instantly drops back down to around 45-38 degrees Celsius.

SPECS:
Motherboard: MEG X570 UNIFY (MS-7C35)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
AIO: Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix XT Liquid CPU Cooler
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4x8GB

Keyboard/Mouse: Logitech 915 Tactical Wireless keyboard (Full) | G502X | Power Play Mousepad
Fans: 10 Corsair QL120mm fans
Case: O11 DYNAMIC XL

Any suggestions or maybe this is a known issue? It’s not like 60 degrees is hot but it’s still a lot warmer than 42 degrees at idle.

Thanks in advance!

I have nearly the exact same setup and the same issue, was this every resolved?

This has to do with the resources used by SignalRGB. As more CPU is used, temperature can rise. Since the software renders each frame for effects, more animation can increase resource use and raise temps.

This varies by setup and effect. After checking with our tech team, the temps in this thread aren’t outside expectations and are well within a healthy range. We don’t expect them to be harmful. Hope this helps!
