Beta build 2.5.64 is unable to configure the NZXT RGB & Fan controller, Duo fans, and Kraken Elite in the cooling section. Only one controller with three fans shows up in the cooling section (the other controller and six fans are missing). The Kraken Elite shows up twice (Pump 1, Pump Fan), and a fan that does not exist shows up on low RPM coming from the Kraken Elite.
Before we dig in, did this work correctly on any previous beta builds? Knowing which version it last worked on helps the team identify exactly which code change introduced the issue.
Based on how my UI currently looks, I think this is my first time receiving a beta build. Before this update, the “Beta” flag wasn’t there, and the cooling section looked completely different. Before the beta build, I believe the pump control worked correctly (and it only showed up once), but I wasn’t able to control each fan individually. If I remember correctly, I was able to control the pump speed, and the speed for each fan controller (which would apply the speed to the fans connected to that controller).
Another thing to note is that I gave each device a custom name from the device settings page to help troubleshoot. In the cooling section, for the devices that did show up, none of the custom names appeared.
Did this work correctly on a previous build? If so, which version was the last one where all your devices showed up correctly in the cooling section? That’ll help the team identify exactly which change introduced the issue.
Could you submit a bug report through the bug icon in the upper-right corner of the app? It attaches your system details automatically and gets it directly in front of the right people alongside what you’ve shared here, so we can investigate it further.
I’m not sure what the previous build was, I just know it wasn’t a beta build. Also, it worked, but still wasn’t correct as it did not provide control over each fan, just over the controllers. I will use the bug button if I can find it. I tried looking for it already and couldn’t find it which is why I started this post.
The bug report icon is a small bug/beetle icon located in the upper right corner of the SignalRGB app window, next to the other header icons. It’s easy to miss. Clicking it will open a bug report form that automatically attaches your system details so we can check on this further.
I used the bug button to report the issue and also included a link to this post for reference. One thing that I got wrong in my report is that in the cooling section, for the one NZXT RGB & Fan controller that does show up, only 3 of the 6 fans connected to that controller can be seen/controlled. The other controller that has 3 fans connected to it does not appear at all.
To summarize:
- Only one of the two controllers is detected
- That controller has 6 fans connected, but only 3 of the fans can be seen/controlled
- The undetected controller has 3 fans connected
- The AIO shows up as a standalone device as well as a second device connected to the motherboard
- A fan running on low RPMs shows up as being connected to the AIO but it doesn’t exist
- The custom device names for the AIO and the one controller show up, but the custom names for the fans do not
I decided to test if the issues also exist in other areas. I was able to recreate the same issues in the monitoring section:
- Only one fan controller shows up in the hardware list (controller name: Sides Tops Back)
- Only 3 of the 6 connected fans are detected for that controller
- The AIO reports low RPM from the phantom fan sensor
- The pump fan sensor shows up for the AIO and for the motherboard
I have figured it all out!
- The “phantom fan” is actually 3 fans connected to the AIO via a breakout cable.
- The reason why one controller is missing is that it is only being used to control RGB.
- The reason why only 3/6 fans appear on one controller is that 3 fans are daisy-chained.
The duplicate AIO pump speed control still remains. Is it possible to disable one of these controls in the cooling section so that I am not sending duplicate speed instructions to the AIO pump?
The extra insight is helpful! Makes sense that there’s some strange behaviors due to the chain.
As for removing fans I don’t believe it’s possible, but that’s a good suggestion. I’ll investigate with the team. ![]()
