# MSI motherboard not supported after 2.4.37 SignalRGB update

Hi all,
I have been experiencing problems with my new build MSI Project Zero Z790 motherboard as many others have also.
I am using a Nollie16 RGB controller which works perfectly with SignalRGB however I came across the problem of software conflicts with MSi Center & Mystic Light, I over came this by downloading and running the MSI Removal Tool last week, all working as expected.
However, a couple of days ago I had a notification indicating that an update was available for Signa
Immediately on restarting Signal any LED’s connected to the motherboard JARGB ports stopped working, on investigation, I found that SignalRGB now again lists Mystic light as an unsupported device.
I have tried running SignalRGB in administration mode, re-installed MSI Center & Mystic light to confirm this was not a hardware issue, I then used the MSI removal tool again, none of this had any effect.
I also updated the BIOS last week to the latest version for my motherboard before installing the OS so this cannot be an issue.
Please could anyone help with this issue as it is becoming very frustrating.

same here i am made up the lx fan started working but the mystic light and board have gone.

I have the same problem since the update 2.4.37.
I have 6 fan that i can control whit Signal RGB before and since the update it impossible to control it. The “device” part in the application disapeare for all fan.
I hope they fix this rapidly.

Something new!
It works again for me, when starting Signal RGB I received a notification that indicated a conflict, I clicked on “restart” and now I have my supported MSI motherboard back in the tab “device” with the corresponding fans.

Ok, I have also got it working again but I didn’t get any notifications.
I just reinstalled MSI Center without Mystic Light and the motherboard reappeared in SignalRGB devices after restarting app, no warnings about conflicting software at all, yet!
Update:
I spoke way too soon, I tried to open MSI Center and immediately got the conflicting application warning again, but everything worked again after using the msi removal tool.
Wow, what a palaver.

i have x570 gaming plus and with 2 diffrent controlers i have the same issue , when i use mystic light it works great ( but i lose the signal rgb conectivity ) when i use signal rgb everything on the controller responds as 1 led, cant configure it there are no options in the software etc, tryed many solutions (uninstall msi center etc) but nothing works.
i stayed with the mysticlight and uninstall the signal until some1 get a fix for it

If the devices are daisy chained, then they’ll all get the same RGB data. Is each device on it’s own RGB header?

Bakoman, sounds like you area using the wrong driver for the LED device, try other device drivers to see if will help, if you cannot find a suitable driver you can use the following website to generate your own.

I am having a similar issue. MSI MAG x570. Motherboard component for JRainbow 1 & 2 shows as “Mystic Light Controller - 5V ARGB Header”, but doesn’t allow the device/component to be removed and reassigned to a fan/light type (ie standard 8-led fan).

MSI boards generally have poor performance when it comes to their onboard RGB controllers. Might be best to explore a dedicated RGB controller. Checkout our [guide to RGB Controllers](https://signalrgb.com/blog/the-ultimate-guide-to-rgb-controllers/) for more info, as the MSI board will likely have a low framerate even when working optimally.

All devices are on a controller, the wierd thing is that with mystic light everything works great , when I go to signal it goes like that again 😕
Some1 told that msi locks moose for using only mystic light , is that true ?

I’m not 100% on the specifics tbh. If it’s showing as a single LED, that’s usually because the device is using zones for things. Essentially wiring up multiple LEDs at a time, either at a physical or software level. It can depend device to device, but other programs not leveraging real-time effects might still be able to send data differently than SignalRGB does (hence why it works with the flash based effects in Mystic Light)
